there is NO NEED for todays cars to have the piddly 300bhp that they do they make it at around 4.5-5 krpm for fucks sake they may as well use a diesel. let them run at least 450 if not 500bhp and restrict them to that and see how they get on

current WRC cars have less HPs but are faster

lol? Group B was forbidden because the cars were to fast en to dangerous. Today's wrc's are damn slow compared to these..

they were too powerful for the current technology for example they had passive differentials unlike modern WRCs, they had manual garboxes and way inferior suspensions and tires.

It is just like F1 when they were turbo they were very dangerous and deadly however modern F1 are safer yet their laptimes are much much faster, a WRC car will surpass a group B stage time easily, but the group B car was more difficult to handle.

Right - they are faster at heavy terrain after 25 years of technical progress with all that electronic and differential stuff.

But they are boring all in all. Unlike todays WRC`s only a couple of guys were able to ride the famous Group B cars at the limit.
