Maybe it was just a fatty tumor. They are harmless. I know that some vets like to say that something is the wost possible thing it could, just to get business. This happened to my little shih-tzu; I got a second opinion, and it turned out to be just a fatty tumor. I did have the new vet remove it from him anyway. I think if your skunk had real cancer he wouldn't be so thick and active.

@wolfmanradio That's what I was hoping it was at first. The vet said it was way too hard to be a fatty tumor. It was so hard that she couldn't get a needle in it to extract fluid to test it. I was surprised by how inexpensive the procedure to remove it was. I trust my vet and they all loooove the skunk there. He's in good hands. =)
