Break the Bank 12/2/85 - Gene is INCREDIBLY BORED - Part 1

This episode is another generic episode of the IMO underappreciated 1985 BTB show. But this is noteable in a couple ways.
First, a couple broke the bank on the previous show.
Second, this is from late in the Rayburn era and he's noticeably SO INCREDIBLY BORED by this point.

All those reruns however were of the Farago era, as Rayburn really didn't want more shame.

Ah. I heard that the show ran for 39 weeks, with the Bank getting broken for $53,323 pretty close to the end.

Based on what you told me about the week of December 16-20, the show thus ran until June 20, 1986 before the Summer reruns (through September 12).

While I believe you, I never heard anything of Joe Farago taking over as host on the 16th; only the 23rd, which I think is true.

I think during that week in between, they reran a few of Gene's episodes to lead into the Farago episodes (they needed time to find someone).

I must respectfully disagree, Hondo -- the show began on September 16th, and Gene only hosted for the first 13 weeks.

That takes his tenure up to December *13th*, not the 20th.
