fred does the honors with 1858 pietta/remington

after hearing about the whiney, out-of-state canoeist, fred (the long-time local) insists on firing-off some rounds. he initiates the 1858 pietta with two shots thru the same hole. a fun time had by all (except for the whiney "people live around here" canoeist). labor day weekend - 2008

I've had more luck (with all c&b revolvers) with Goex FFFg. But not noticeable. This guy knows his way around that pistol and cracked me up when he waved the smoke away on the first shot. That’s always good for a laugh. But anyway, nice shooting and nice vid. Thanks for sharing. Hopefully we can get some people converted over to black powder.

I have the same 1858 Remington and it's a natural pointer and super accurate.

I use Goex black powder. Thats what the gun is made to fire.

so you're using APP black powder substitute..?

i'm dreaming after a Pietta 1858 myself,

would you still stick with the American Pioneer Powder or did you get to try any other propellant?
