Hi
Here's a new little vid of my 1953 Ariel Square Four Mk1. Hope ye like it :-)
She hadn't run for a while, so start-up wasn't as easy as normal. But the weather was good for once, so I thought "let's take her out for some filming......" Enjoy the result :-)

  • Somebody needs to show this gentleman how to kickstart a bike... He's gonna hurt his foot or ankle someday soon with his capers.

  • @rocker53zero Hi Rocker! Don't you worry, this lady never kicks back, I would even start her barefoot if need be

    cheers, Kees

  • Cracking machine squire... You just need to be a little firmer with her...

  • I would suggest a swifter as opposed to harder kick might have her starting a little better by spinning the motor over faster. Having said that my word she is a beauty sir.

  • wow.. heeft dit type geen koelingsproblemen?

  • I find the engine on this bike rather fascinating. Four cylinders in two sets with two crankshafts?? (Please do correct me if I'm wrong...)

Also, it sounds quite like a vw engine when you rev it......

  • Wonderful motorcycle! I have been lucky to maintain a friend's 1952 Square 4 here in the States, although his is in I guess what would be termed "oily rag" condition. Before I made this bike's acquaintence, I prefered the later Sq. 4, but I have to confess I'm smitten with the early 50's models almost exclusively. Enjoy your lovely bike!

  • I heard a late model starting and driving away many years ago. The music coming from its Burgess silencers...I've never forgotten it.
