  • If you use the Skype app on phone then it doesnt matter who starts the call you still have to pay right ?

  • @Rs2Thor Just like with Skype on your computer, Skype-to-Skype calling and instant messaging is free from your phone. You will require a little Skype Credit or a subscription to call landlines and mobile numbers, which are charged at regular Skype rates. Thanks for asking, Skype YouTube Community Manager.

  • I am shopping for an android cell phone with wifi, dual sim, 3g. None of the ebay adds show skype as an app. Does it act the same as if on a pc? I was hoping that being dual sim, I could use one sim for my phone service and one as my internet. Any help would be appreciated. I guess what i'm asking is what is the minimum requirements for skype on an android based phone. Thanks

  • @unclewooly To run Skype on your Android phone, you will need a supported phone running Android OS version 2.1 or above with least 27MB of free memory space on your handset and 600Mhz or more processing power. But, due to Android restrictions, devices running Android 2.2 will only be able to use the rear-facing camera. Devices with Android 2.3 or higher will be able to use both front and rear-facing cameras. Thanks for asking, Skype YouTube Community Manager.

  • @binashraf I am sorry about the issue you are facing, but I do not have an answer to that because Skype does not use your mobile phone provider's minutes. I would direct you to our Android support site community.skype.com/t5/Android/bd-p/Android where you can find customer support. Thanks for asking, Skype YouTube Community Manager.

  • @skype i have already set it to allow calls from anyone. also, the skype app i had before didn't ask me to enter my mobile number when i sign in and That skype app was free to all other skype users, then i updated to a newer version of the skype app and now it asks me to enter my mobile number whenever i sign in, and it uses my mobile contract minutes when i call people on skype.

  • @binashraf It's free to call anyone else on Skype, but a WiFi connection or mobile data plan is required. I suggest checking that your privacy settings are set to "Allow calls from anyone", if this doesn't work try checking our community support network at community.skype.com. Thanks for asking, Skype YouTube Community Manager.

  • when you make skype to skype calls with the app does it use voip? so that it's totally free like it is on the PC? or will it use my mobile contract minutes? i have a skype app on my fone at the moment and it uses my mobile contract minutes, also, I can only make calls to other skype users, other skype users can not call ME. when someone tries to call me on skype, they get a message saying 'user busy'.

  • @dushanbe4 We have an Android support page for sending and receiving text and instant messages at support.skype.com/en-us/faq/FA11039/How-do-I-send-and-receive-instant-messages-and-texts-using-Skype-for-Android. Thanks for asking, Skype YouTube Community Manager.

  • How do I send someone instant messages using Skype mobile? I can type up an entire message, no problem, but I can't find any button that lets me actually send it.
