Having Garcia being a former HPD Officer, I pray he does not win. HPD doesn't provide safety. HPD are lazy people who know nothing about policing. Sherrif T. Thomas has had some mistakes after years in office but he's done a tremondously good job compared to HPD. And I feel safer calling the sheriffs dept than lazy HPD whose response time seems like hours!

Running the Mayor's Anti-Gang task force is not the same as law enforcement supervisory experience - especially running an orginization as large as the Sheriff's Office. From my experience, I am not impressed with the Mayor's Anti-Gang task force (more like "Hug a Thug"). Garcia is my city councilman and I do not support him. Crime & gangs are still a big problem in his city district. I don't see him doing anything about it.

Whoever the IDIOT is that said Adrian has NO supervisory experience is a dill hole. Adrian ran the Mayor's Anti-Gang Office (MAGO) for years. He was instrumental in reducing Gang Activity in Houston. Remember back the late 90's when all we heard out of SW Houston was South West Cholos"... Trust me, I am a Former Gang Officer.... Adrian is the REAL DEAL... Harris COunty WANTS him, Harris County NEEDS him...

Tommy Thomas is a great Sheriff and has done alot for the Sheriffs Office since 1995. Advances in technology, improvement in salaries, better equipment, and a good relationship with county leaders is what he has maintained in his tenure. We do not need a new Sheriff, as our Sheriff is more than capable to do the job with 37 years in the Sheriffs Office. He has worked his way up through the ranks and knows every inch of the department. If it aint broke, dont fix it!
