ohh, the paper attachted to the pipes are markers for the bot, arent they? Aren't you not allowed to do that for botball? I jsut joined so yeah..

.... wow, for bot ball last year (before I joined), my team's robot was much much more complex than it needed to be and we ran into problems. It's amazing how simple/effective this robot is- congrats!

how do u use a gameboy to do that?

The Gameboy basically serves as a processor. It is connected to a circuit board that has connectors for all of the sensors (camera and range sensors) as well as some flash memory that holds the program. The Gameboy loads the program from the flash memory and uses it to take in the input from the sensors and tells the motors and servos what to do based on it.

Most robots for Botball just follows a pre-programmed path, which is what mine basically does, although it does use the camera to navigate, rather than hard-coded distances. You might notice the two pieces of paper with neon green on them: those are seen by the camera and it uses those to navigate to where it needs to drop off the balls and robot guys.
