He has a few video on his technique if you are ever interested. There are two one is Golf is Mental Imagery and the other is quite long calls Austinology. He goes in depth about how he did it.

With good technique anyone can hit it long. The question is can we sustain it under stress.

thats fair enough then i believe it. u have witnessed it so that is the debate over. it still staggers me how he hits it so far with a swing speed that isn't off the scales. i also heard hes was in his sixties so all credit to him

The video was slowed down quite a bit so we can catch his swing sequences. We did a time stretch, but if you try to track his arms and clubhead on the way down you will not see them.

im not trying to argue with u, having read ur message ive watched other videos with him in and i am not saying YOU r wrong. u r right, they say he is the longest. but i feel many things he has done have been lost in translation, what was a really long drive 40 or whatever years ago, thinking back yu may recall being longer than it actually was

Well he was a very long hitter well into his late 70s. He was quite well known in the LA area back in the 70s and 80s. The LA time wrote an article about him.

I knew Mike quite well and watched him hit ball many times before.

He did play on tour briefly with the like of Hogan and Sneads, but never was too interested in competing full time as he had other interests in mind.
