PART 1 OF 8

Finding effective ways to talk about uncomfortable subjects things people may not want to hear about, no matter how "important" they are, is extremely difficult. However, in order to tell a complete story, the good, the bad and the ugly must be portrayed. Dr. Rex Ellis contributed substantially to
establishing Colonial Williamsburgs worldwide reputation for excellence in the field of African American interpretation and is currently establishing educational programs, exhibitions and collections for the Smithsonian Institutions new National Museum of African American History and Culture. He will share his philosophy as well as practical advice on how to best meet the challenges of interpreting slavery.
