The critic of "Discophage" (France) wrote on March 14,2008 about this work: "The Divertimento can be described, at least in its outer movements, a a wild Villa-Lobos or Milhaud (the middle movement is more terse and brooding), Nobre's language is fully contemporary, in the wake of modern compositional techniques.

Only to corrected my information: Maestro Tauno Hannikainen, from Finland, declared that the Divertimento is a work of a genius and that Marlos Nobre was the WORTHY SUCCESSOR OF VILLA-LOBOS in the opinion and the mind of the musicians, musicologists and performers in all Europe (Correio da Manhã, 5 november 1965).

This works, written when the composer was only
23 years old received its world premiere on 1965 conducted by Tauno Hannikainen, who was a pupil of Sibelius, and the pianist Homero Magalhães.Hannikainen in this occasion declared to the newspaper that this Divertimento it is a work of a genius and that Marlos Nobre was the worth successor of Villa-Lobos in the mind of musicians in Europe.The work won then the first prize at the Brazilian Academy of Music, and it is a beautiful piano concerto.
