Salma ya Salama (an Egyptian Peace song)

"Salma Ya Salama" is an Egyptian popular song (composed by Sayed Darwish), released in 1977 by artist Dalida in Egyptian Arabic, then in French. It was among the first Ethnic fusion hit in all the world, recorded in four languages, and was credited to a singer with the name "Singer of Peace" in Egypt that same year.
Salma Ya Salama was also an album released by Dalida that same year, containing the title song and other hits. The song "Salma Ya Salama" has been performed by other artists, such as Alabina, Chantal Chamandy and Jean Michel Jarre.

Salma ya salama..means welcome back but in a musical way..says i have been all around but when my first love called me i left everything and came..welcome back welcome back we went and came in peace...its a folk song about an egyptian man who been all over the world yet nothing compares to his home country...it was written by sayed darwich a great egyptian musician in response to egyptians returning sinai as they were put in slavery by frensh company during suez canal dig
