Our favorite performance ever from Audra - the last two minutes are amazing - and what a close!

"Down With Love" from "Hooray for What" - sung by Audra McDonald. Available on the highly recommended DVD "My Favorite Broadway: The Leading Ladies."

  • Nossa, estou passado, ainda melhor que a versão original. Abaixo o amor já.

  • Personally, I would say this is my favorite version if I were to compare it to Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand's renditions.

  • is there any sheet music available for this version?

  • I did D W L in DRAG @ the JUNGLE lounge in Nashville TN. In a BLACK BEE-HIVE wig, a torn & tattered wedding dress and tons of mascara running down my face! it was an off-the-beaten-path, a few blocks up from Broadway where all the honky-tonks where. so quite often the BIG guys whould slip on down the road and check out a drag version of Minnie, Dolly or Patsy Cline! Reba & Wynnona used go there so did Merle Haggert and his posse..well everybody has @ one time or another

  • @Evilqueen1985 Probably because by extroverting their thoughts they learn something from the performance. As singers we are taught not to impersonate voices we admire because we will copy the good and the bad. There is no such thing as a perfect voice that ever lived. A person's accomplishment does not suddenly prevent them from being able to make a flaw. Furthermore there are many people out there with "abnormal" instruments that can get away with improper phonation (ie: most famous belters).
