A cover made on 1-bit sound-generator of ZX SPECTRUM 48Kb (3 channels) by MISTER BEEP.
Full Mister Beep's album "Monophonic Generator" with ZX Spectrum 48K covers of Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Vangelis and others - is downloadable here: http://berlin_hq.micromusic.net/bhack.html

Please note that emulation of Z80/beeper sound isn't ideal.

Proper recording (MP3) from original hardware is here http://tiny.pl/46xw

  • This almost sounds to good to be 1-bit, this sounds like 4.

  • Yes, I also think the beeper sounds great. However it takes almost 100% of the CPU. Btw - this comes from emulator. :) Original beeper sound is even better. ;)

  • Well, do you know where to get this?

  • The full album itself is here: berlin_hq. micromusic. net / bhack. html, the editor is here: worldofspectrum. org / infoseekid. cgi?id=0008523 however as far as I know there is no demo with the music yet.

  • I was talking about the emulator, where do you get the emulator?

  • Choose whatever You want worldofspectrum . org / emulators . html

For the easiest usage I would recommend Real Spectrum or R80.

For the best emulation it would be Z80Stalth or Unreal Speccy.

  • This video is a great aid for learning to play this TD piece on keyboard, not to mention a nice Speccy nostalgia trip.

I remember tinkering with Melbourne House's "Music Box" program and having fun. Not long after that, I got an Amiga and my interest in music-making soaring. But the Spectrum was always the beginning of it for me.

  • The computer is 8-bit. But it generates 1-bit sound.

It's like Amiga 500 (let's say) - the computer is 16-bit but it generates 8-bit sound.

  • I thought this was 8-bit...

  • this is sooooo cool, logos is my favorite tangerine dream album.

    5/5
