The Hobbies & Crafts Shop that used to be in the High Street in the 1970s / 1980s was used for a Yellow Pages Advert on ITV in 1985. I was Walking along the High Street at roughly 6pm One Evening in 1985, when I Saw some really Bright Lights opposite the Bus Garage. As I got Closer I realised "The Hobbies & Crafts" Shop was being Filmed. I found out afterwards, that it was for The Yellow Pages Advert on ITV. Where a Boy want's to buy a Hornby Train.
But as far as I know, the street where the Boy Rides his Bike is not in Potters Bar.
I looked almost exactly like that kid when I was his age, had a jacket like that too.

Anybody else recognise the father? He played the caretaker "Mr Bennet" in TAKE HART/HARTBEAT!

They remade this advert with the father saying 'Thanks Ben' at the end, after complaints from idiots who ddn't understand the affection in the laugh. The new version was a travesty of this heartwarming moment, typical of a generation of 'do-gooders' unable to read between the lines.
