Sir Christopher Ondaatje, OC, OBE, author, publisher, explorer, philanthropist and Macquarie University Writer in Residence discusses his book "Hemingway in Africa: The Last Safari". Africa was an life-long obsession for Hemingway, and Ondaatje, through personal journeys into physical and literary aspects of Hemingway's safaris, has produced a startling and controversial documentary of the man and the myth. Sir Ondaatje was born in Sri Lanka, educated in London and emigrated to Canada in 1956. In 1967, he founded the Pagurian Press, later the Pagurian Corporation. In 1988, he sold all his business interests and returned to the literary world. He is author of seven books including the best-selling Burton biographies "Sindh Revisited" and "Journey to the Source of the Nile". He was a member of Canada's 1964 Olympic bobsled team, is a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, and a Trustee of the National Portrait Gallery.
@tudoransky1 Newsflash: animals kill other animals lol! They do it to eat and to live, but animals are killers. They have to kill in order to survive. Carnivores kill other animals and even herbivores kill plants by eating them. Killing animals is only frowned upon by humans who misunderstand nature. Even you have killed: your body's immune system hunts down and kills millions of bacteria each day! And thank goodness, because if it didn't you would die of bacterial infection rather quickly.
