I Had a Seizure on Monday...
This depresses me....
Well, at least it was a Petite Mal this time, well below the normal of my Grand Mal Seizures.
Hopefully, this may mean that I am out-growing these horrible seizures.... If this is the case....
I would only have 3 years of Seizure free to be able to FF!

true dedication right there for ya

But with good reason considering the fact that I am an Epileptic. Also, given I was 15 at the time (Junior FF). I realized even then, this was a wise choice. It still killed me, being a FF is my dream. IT is not just a job, this is my calling. I am taking every action and means I can, to hopefully one day be Seizure free. Once that day arrives, I can promise you this, I will be out there doing everything I can to become the Firefighter I dream to be.

Well, I apologize DFD57. It is not so much, that I dislike the idea of being a Vol. FF. However, it was my local Vol. FD: In my Missourian home town, that had made the decision to disallow my being a FF.

If you don't wanna be a EMT, try First Responder its about the same thing. You may think a Vol. FD sux but its all good.
Is there nothing I can do, but sit & wait to be cured?
Or is there anything I can do less demanding that wouldn't necessarily take into account my condition, were I could help people in a way similar to being an EMT without being a (Vol. A** Wipe?)
I want to save lives, I've done it before just being a good Samaritan. What do you think?

Some EMS squads have "Auxiliary" groups - these folks, though NON-riding, are very important for the support system they give us. They help out when there are functions such as parades, open houses, committees, and even parties. Contact your local EMS or Fire squad and ask if they have any non-active roles available. If you have clerical, financial or grant-writing skills, you might be very useful in those ways. Good luck.
