  • A rifle is only an "assault rifle" if it's used to assault someone, otherwise, it's just a rifle.

  • The description made me lulz XD

  • damn foolios always callin the sks an assault rifle

  • Indeed, the SKS is not an assault rifle. But when people change the stock and add a 20 or 30 round magazine, it does look like one. That's what confuses a lot of people I think.

  • oh ! shit ! ;D

  • WOW ,good video, some of the comments are way of base!,SKS is russian,1st made at the tula arrsenal, then others after the fact, production stopped after the ak-47 was in full production, china, and all other warsaw pact countries were givin the plans and some equipment from the factories to make there own, eastern block mostly, china, iran, and other asian countries followed blue prints and added modifications of there own,But the first and only true SKS came from tula,so sorry so many bashers out there

  • @EmptyWalls100 I wouldn't call it copying, considering they are both Simonovs weapons. He just took what he had that was successful in the PTRS41, shrunk it and gave birth to the SKS.

  • @EmptyWalls100

The SKS became was so widely used because the AK-47 was new, and unique, and the Russians didn't want to give it out to all the troops or all of the countries under their control, so they were given simple SKSs or Mosin Nagants.

They either produced their own, or got them from the Russians.

I know for certain that the East Germans made their own SKSs but also received some from the Russians, they were stamped with a 1 inside a triangle.

I had such an SKS, but sold it.
