Lets see these games back in the playground...Over 50s from equal arts Cultural carers and local school children from Cademon Community primary School undertook workshops together in the ancient art of Cats Cradle while working also on a poem about the game. They were then filmed doing an impromptu performance of the game at the bandstand in Saltwell Park Gateshead. The project was funded by comic relief

  • This kind of games are one of the best brain gyms you can give to kids. They help to support mental processes by which we perceive, act, learn, and remember. This game helps to build more synapses in the developing children's brains.

  • @mahatiba thanks..a really informative comment...some interesting scientific insights..also checked out your channel..you have some very informative videos

  • This was 4 mins of smiles watching nice people interact with a simple common purpose. Though the outcomes of the dance can be predictable, my many smiles and inspired desire to do the same were not. Thank you.

  • @overlycreative thanks for the kind words...hope others see it...really like your channel

  • lol. thats my school...

  • Very nice video my friend.

    Regards.

  • Charming, so lovely to see young children interact in this way with their peers and also the elderly. So many of the schoolyard games that we played as children have now been replaced by computer games etc and social engagement lost which I thini is a pity.

  • I agree games like this should be more common place in out schools, it's a shame they died out.

My husband sells a book on Cat's Cradle in his shop in Wallsend. Marks Smarty Arts on Wallsend High Street. oppposite the ship pub.
