@jasperweary He was addicted to meth in 2001. He has since gotten cleaned up and written some of the most beautiful music ever written (and Elton John would say the same). His concerts now are wonderful. Give him another try. I promise you won't be disappointed.

I saw Mr Wainwright in 2001 when he opened for Tori Amos... he was so intoxicated he fell off of his stool twice, kicked a shoe into the audience and repeatedly said "I feel sick, guys" through out the horrendous 45 minutes he had on stage. I'm sorry sir, you haven't got shit on Joots.

This guy reminds me of that boxer years and years ago who watched ROCKY over and over before his big fight. He got all juiced up while watching the movie that he forgot one thing. He forgot that he didn't really have enough "punch" behind his dream/delusion to knock the other guy out. The match lasted about 30 seconds.

@Godotnyc I'm sorry- but that's not true: what you said about Judy not being "classically pretty (and was not considered so even in her own time)". Maybe people disagree on whether she was beautiful, but I've read many quotes by her peers saying how pretty she was. Such as "pretty as the devil". In fact Maureen O'Hara said Judy was the prettiest girl in Hollywood. Whether we think she's beautiful or pretty is subjective, but it is a fact that many of her contemporaries found her very pretty.

If you think he's bad you should hear Lorna Luft sing Judy's songs. She is terrible! She drags ever song out to sound like a rippling ballad. For christ's sake, they're showtunes!
