@scholion, Norwegian GDP is higher than that of Sweden, even though there are twice as many Swedes than Norwegians. Thus, the answer to your question could be that Sweden has been in a low conjuncture, which we know to be true, for quite some time. This is when oil is kept out of the picture.

@scholion I've never heard of anyone celebrating Norway on christmas. We celebrate Jul (Yule). Great traditional food in the company of family and friends.

As for the oil money. Reason is, we don't use it. Since you're swedish, read up on Handlingsregelen on the norwegian wikipedia.
