  • i hate evacuation in most places traffic was horrible and i had to go to the restroom in a bottle so i wouldn't have to leave the highway and come back on 5 hours later. I think traffic is less bad one day before the storm. most people left.

  • talk about a nightmare. it took my best friend and me about 12 hours to get from river ridge to shreveport. we had just begun to settle into our new apt. on thurs. on sat., i went to wal-mart and that's when i found out about the evacuation.

  • missisippi public radio sounded as blind as a small local station, but they were listenable from the ms border on all in all agood job, they will do a lot better informing us in the future

  • This is the one time you get to go on the wrong side of the highway.

  • I live in Ohio and we occasionally get the leftovers...but I remember when Katrina was on the way I had a REALLY bad feeling.

I remember in '04 we got a LOT of rain courtesy of Ivan...flood warnings in my area.

  • was there did that starting at 8 am sun morning contra flow side, which had much less traffic, took more time to drive the mile and1/2 to get on i10 then it took to get to baton rouge 65 miles.after leavtng b.r. we ran into bumper to bumper traffic.for the next 150 miles.was lucky, i had made reservations at a lafayette hotel 2 days earlier. almost 4 hours to get to baton rouge.never again,i hope.

  • My cousin was stuck there. His car broke down, right before it hit, so he was forced to go back home. He couldn't get to the GTFOing out of there like everyone else.

  • U do know that u are in a moderate risk zone 4 tornadoes right?

  • Yeah i heard aboot it. I live in heavenly southern ontario. It's freezing cold in the winter & firing hot in the summer

  • It's intresting to see the movement before the actual rash of evacuations commenced. at this point there was a calm almost buisnesslike approach to the evacuations. and the coverage was brilliant. your a shining example of what i aspire to be (meteorology)
