42 seconds without oxygen is enough to make a human blackout, commonly the first they know about is at about 35 seconds when they feel dizzy. Dont feel anything once they blackout even as their brain dies and arent concious at the point when their lungs ache due to the CO2. The chook wont panic and so are less likely to harm themselves or the meat they are dying for nor do they need to be handled and potentially abused,its just not practical economically. The Nazi's didn't use CO2 either btw...

If I was going to die, I'd prefer getting my head chopped off over being gased which takes 3 minutes, cause dying can't be pleasent, and I think the quicker and faster it's done the better it is.

Still not humane. It's one of the worst ways to die. The chicken will suffocate to death (it's a long process).

Also, wouldn't this be harmful to the eater? The body will be full of carbon...
