Gay conservative/libertarian over here. What this guy is saying is that i should be against conservatives bc some of them hate gays. so does that mean i should be against hetero blacks since the majority of them are homophobic? Jimmy, your logic is twisted, kid.

Discrimination against gays is a policy endorsed and a prejudice pandered to whole heartedly by the top of the party. Stirring up gay hatred has been an electoral tool used and endorsed whole heartedly by the top of the party. But I appreciate you dismissing it as "some of them hate gays"...that comment reveals you to be, at best a not serious person, and at worst, willfully delusional.

It's funny how some people commenting this and complaining, "I'm a gay conservative". Yeah, because we ALL KNOW that the Republican Party is the ONLY conservative political party in this country. lol! The Libertarian and Populist Parties don't exist. And the idea of being an "independent voter" is illegal in this country. lol!

@Planerian OK, I apologize; I was in a pretty rotten mood when I wrote those comments. I stand by what I said, but I didn't have to be so sarcastic. I was raised atheist. I told my parents I was gay when I was away at college (they, of course already knew and didn't care). I became a Christian after graduating from Med School. My partner and I have been together for 12 years. We are both social liberals and fiscal conservatives. P.S. I don't HATE GAYS.

@jimmydore : I am not tolerant of bigotry in any shape or form.However, I truely believe there are just as many antigay Democrats as there are Republicans { yes I agree, there are homophobic Republicans, it may seem like there are less homophobic Democrats because they are in the closet about their homophobia }. I am a Republican because I believe in less Government. Americans are smart enough to know what is best for themselves. I don't need a politician to tell me what to eat or what to drive
