This is a great little stove, can be made in minutes and used in a multitude of ways, for hiking camping or a survival situation, with a little wood burner your never out of fuel, and you can use almost any fuel give it a try.

  • Made this type of 'stove' when I was a kid using an old boy scout survival book... By the way I'm told that stuff like that isn't mentioned in the 'modern' scout books. Should have kept that old book - think they go for 70 bucks now. Great work sir.

  • @akachucknasty I still have mine circa 1968.

  • What is that "churckkey" tool? I am Norwegian. Never heard of that..

  • @G0MPgomp It's a can/bottle opener, the kind that punches the triangle hole in cans.

  • Dude, you just saved me $9.95 plus tax on a charcoal starter. Thanks...(just kidding, I really wouldn't pay that much anyways, and now all I'm gonna buy is a can of tomato juice for the can).

  • @Shekanahh Glad to be of service.

  • @great769 when SHTF im gonna find you seems like you have a lot of survival methods

    Thank you Sir.

  • thanks! i made my first hobo stove two days ago and it worked great. success. instead of using a grate i just used a wire coat hanger and cut it into sections and ran them through the ventilation holes in the top and bent the ends down. thanks alot for the great idea!

  • nice. the only thing that could make it better would be a damper. i'm sure you are genius enough to do that as well. this would be a good pack survival tool.

  • @chibraxial well you would also go garbage picking and find a free can:D Now its free

  • @chibraxial have you ever driven on an American highway ...... cans are free dude

  • "free can" actually it isn't free, you paid for it as well as for the food inside... usually you just waste it, now you're recycling.

    Great.

  • awesome, now i dont have to buy a hot plate to cook crack. which is good since i dont have power. or a house.

    kidding.

  • @akachucknasty your not allowed to use a home made stove now
