Big, Loud, Fiery, Insanely Sweet, Tennis Ball Mortar

This is a video of my dad's cannon he whipped up. It's fueled with map gas from and lit with the same torch. Its pretty much just a 2 1/2" pipe with one end sealed off. Throw on a couple of legs and drill a hole, and you got a cannon!. My little bro is filming.

hmm, you may want to shoot corner to corner at 160 acres. could be cutting it close otherwise... lol!

nope, sheriff did. When he got a call of people throwing tennis balls at each other at the lake, he went straight to our house.

Either from the booms, or our "history" of stuff like this that brought him in... not sure

Any chance of modifying the mortar to achieve more stability when firing? Say, adding a baseplate and welding a slightly heavier breech piece to it? Or maybe a recoil buffer?

Nice mortar, btw. Would have loved to see it and hear it live when it was fired. =D
