my friends farm is just a couple hundred metres away from beale ave and the property got burnt they had to sitt in the dam while the fire was right above them

CBR, i also took video footage that day of the same fire just a few kms further along in st.andrews.
You mention the wind, well when things went CRAZY..the noise and constant explosions from the fire were deafening.
It didn't sound like wind, but a wild Banshee screaming and squealing.
Now the noise of jets engines, Not trains as they used to say instantly takes me back.
R.I.P to all those lost friends who were heroes.....

wow that gave me shivers...
Glad the video was of some help. I was happy that I grabbed the camera as the afternoon was unfolding I could see that something very big was coming our way. My intent was to capture as much as possible to help understand as much of events like this as possible. I have also uploaded some still images if you care to look.

I hung around because I was all too aware that leaving late is a very dangerous thing to do. I left my home to help my neighbour. Two again the fire is better than one.
