  • If the world goes to hell, it won't be because of people like Carl. It will be largely because of people obsessed with hell who care first and foremost about securing their place at the side of an imaginary friend. These people would eschew the human project so that they can (in their minds) save themselves from the oblivion that so terrifies them.

Love you Carl. It's time for a great awakening in the spirit you so wonderfully fulfilled.

  • THANK YOU DR. CARL SAGAN, THANK YOU!! you always bring a smile to my face.

  • @mark1221976 just imagine how much space was comprised in each lone pixel.

  • Offent I read the news and think "how is this ever gonna work?" but then I look at the clear skies of the night and say "It has to work"

  • Oops! I repeated myself. I thought my first message didn't go through. :-P

  • At 3:12, Carl says that the images from the probe were 640,000 pixels. That was only 0.64 Mega-pixels! That was a lot back then, though.

Anyway, Carl Sagan was, and is, the definition of charismatic.

  • In the dictionary, for the definition of the word "charismatic", maybe they should put Carl Sagan.

I think it's odd--but cool--that Earth has blue skies and orange sunsets, and Mars has just the opposite. I would like to be on mars just to see a blue sunset.

  • CARL SAGAN is the wise man of all time.

    Carl lives on.

  • Dr.Sagan has and always be more awesome than Jesus Mr.T and Chuck Norris combined.

  • me 2 seems a poetry when the man talks

  • Ah, I see.

  • Carl Sagan did NOT do this video. The narration is from his audiobook "Pale Blue Dot". That audio of Carl speaking was matched (by unknown persons) with video and music. I almost rather think Lang Kasranov put this together. He's skilled as pulling things like this off.
