This is the Fox Sports News feature regarding the recognition of the Twins Platoon - a group of men who were sworn in to the Marine Corp on the evening of June 28, 1967 at a Minnesota Twins Game. On July 2, 2006 the Minnesota Twins organization honored the Twins Platoon during a pre-game ceremony for their Armed Services Appreciation day. The day held many special moments (including a standing ovation from some 47,000 fans) for each member of the Twins Platoon as well as their families, friends and communities. This was the largest gathering of the Twins Platoon members since their original ceremony.
As the daughter of a Montford Point Marine, and as a proud American, I thank you for your service.

Wow!
As the son of one of these men, it amazes me how different their lives were at the time of the war compared to the man I knew growing up. I could never imagine being that brave myself.
If it wasn't their turn, it was their friend right next to them, gone in a single moment, but never forgotten.
It makes me appreciate more what the men of military today are doing.
Thanks Chris.
