Stars include Humphrey Bogart, James Cagney, John Garfield, Ann Sheridan, and the Dead End Kids—Billy Halop, Leo Gorcey, Huntz Hall, Gabriel Dell, Bobby Jordan, and Bernard Punsly.

  • I watched East side comedy in ny in the early 1960's as a kid. We used to visit my grandmother in a bad part of Brooklyn, and it was instant boweryboys to me. My dad still wore a big grey overcoat and hat in those years ,g man style, the old brownstone, dark and dirty city, fear of a bad area, my grandmother in a poka dot dress with big black shoes. i feel like i lived in those movies when we visited grandma. my dad was the real thing, hells kitchen, was his playground as a kid.

  • Check out Bobby Briggs from Twin Peaks there at 1:31, far left.

  • Before they're was Rebel W/ Out A Cause, before they're was Wild-One, before they're was Black-board Jungle. There was the even grittier & wilder Crime-school made in 1938

  • NICE DEY 4 MURDA

  • Fantastic cinematography !

    Great movies !

  • The Dead End Kids reminds me alot of New Orleans; the accent there is alot like a Brooklyn accent, not southern-due to the irish and italians who immigrated there-my dad used to take me to the old 'hood, and you'd expect Slip to run down the street!

  • The Bowery boys/Eastside kids were great....to this very day many people still long to see there movies.....without Leo Gorcey they would of been nothing. Leo was the micro chip of the gang....Angels with dirty faces and dead end probably 2 of the best GANG movies EVER MADE....this is what gangs were all about.

  • the anguished cries still haunt my memory

  • Crime School is such an awesome movie. I've been wanting to watch Angels With Dirty Faces for a long time though.
