Got about 3 1/2 hours on the 5IVE engine now and it is running very smooth. Although in my opinion they probably should have put a 30cc engine in this beast. It seems a bit underpowered for racing, although it's fine for bashing. But a tuned pipe should help that, i'll probably get one at some point. This video shows off the new 5IVE doing some running on gravel and testing cornering and jumping. This truck is a ton of fun and I really like it a lot.

Btw - the little tire's I'm using for the corners are actually full size EMAXX monster truck tires. :D

Enjoy

  • have you checked out BL5 brushless conversion for this truck yet? Its posted by RC Driver magazine, holy shit gotta have this one anyone want to buy a well trained house broke wife. lol

  • @TheOldharleyguy57 - you know I am amazed at the number of people that want to convert this truck to electric.... I don't understand it. For starters it cost more than the truck itself cost to convert it (around $1800 to do it right). and you need $400 worth of batteries to run it more than 10 minutes. So you have a $3000 truck that's really fast for 15 minutes. rofl. I can drive it for over an hr on 1 tank of $3.50 gas. I like gas engines and I have no intention of converting it. :))

  • @jetlag2222 I see your point and that is probably what will stop me from doing it, I am going to own a 5ive T but will probably just put a pipe on it and leave it at that but if you have seen the video of them running the 5ive T with that brushless system installed on the 1/8 scale track you cant tell me there is just a little part of you that would like to have one of those bad boys like that. If you didnt know the size of the truck you would think it was a slash ripping it up

  • @TheOldharleyguy57 - I can get onboard with the pipe. lol. I will be getting a tuned pipe soon for mine. I agree with you that the electric conversion is very sexy and cool, but it's just too expensive currently to make it worth it imo... plus I actually LIKE engines. rofl. The other thing I wonder is... with all that motor torque going on in a 30+ lb truck... how long before drivetrain components start failing... and they ain't cheap to replace in a truck that size!

  • @jetlag2222 RIGHT ON nice video edition ......

  • @MrJcosenza79 - Thanks!

  • @jetlag2222 Yeah and I have been wondering about what kind of overheating issues you will have with the electronics pushing a 35lb plus truck around the track. Thanks for your inputs they are very helpful for a newbie such as myself
