Just a few experiments to tide people over until I get a more substantial series going. An early test of this is shown at the end, but a few changes have already been made since the creation of this video so look forward to it in the near future! The screenplay for the first episode has already been completed.

FAQ:

Camera: Canon DSLR EOS 40D

Programs used:

Animation: I now use Dragon Stop Motion for Mac (also available for PC). I used to use Stop Motion Pro but seeing as that is not available on a Mac I had to switch to a different program, but Dragon works better in my opinion anyway. www.dragonstopmotion.com.

Video Titles: Done in Adobe After Effects

Post Production: Done in Adobe Premiere.

I use Belgrave clay, which is only sold in Australia. For as long as I've been animating, I've never heard anyone tell me they've seen it elsewhere. There are plenty of good alternatives out there and remember there's no perfect clay. While good materials are certainly helpful, a good animator can still animate something amazing with 'bad' clay.

I animate at 24fps. 12fps is a fairly good speed to start at if you're a beginner but I wouldn't recommend going under 12fps.

  • Your fluidity is pretty nice, bro, but I think it's about time you work on your figure development. Like, I get that those basic figures are recognizable to your mamshmam "brand", but I think you are far more capable than that. It would be nice to see some sort of gender specific figures start to take shape. Just some artistic advice. Peace.

  • @texandriller Many people say the same about asdf movie. They say characters are not detailed enough. I like it this way, it doesn't only give mamshmam more posibilities of smooth and better animation, but also I like the way in which the figures can have their own personality without the need of further details. They are nobody, but have personality.

    Personal opinion, though ;)
