  • @Katanaboii I'm not positive, but I think when when he plays live (maybe on the recordings, not sure) he's in standard tuning but a full step flat. This song is in A but he's playing it in a B position because he's tuned flat. I think part of the reason is that he likes to use that open B shape that gives it that really nice open voicing. It seems like he prefers to use inversions of chords to get that unique sound he has on most of his material. Hope that's helpful. I know it's a little late.

  • @Katanaboii playing in the key of B

  • @Katanaboii he's tuned down 2 half-steps i believe

  • @Katanaboii normally when he plays live he tunes a step down. not sure if he's doing that here in this particular vid but normally he tunes everything flat.

  • @Katanaboii he is usually tuned a whole step down in all his songs

  • @Katanaboii this song, and most of his new songs, are all tuned a full step down, meaning DGCFAD

  • @Katanaboii G# he tunes the guitar a little low so gives the impression to be playing at B but really is a G#

  • @Katanaboii Pretty sure he usually plays in dropD, but could be wrong.

  • @Codyleemusician Yup, I figured it out! He's playing a full step down but in the key of B (which in reality is in fact the key of A because of his tuning)

  • @Katanaboii most likely half step down or full step down. I'm pretty sure though half set down from the key of E
