The 2008 DHL Connecting Cultures (www.connectingcultures.co.uk) journey saw a team of 18 girls from various European and Arab countries spend five days together in the desert of Oman in an effort to promote cultural understanding and break down stereotypes. On the following video clip the girls summarise some of their discussions.
Connecting cultures is about building bridges, showing respect and bringing peace. The girls have showed us how people can express their thoughts freely and confidently at the same time respect each other identities. Thank you, girls for making us proud, awakening hope and bringing peace to our hearts and neighborhood. Shukran (thank you!) DHL (Mark and the team) for this practical contribution. I hope to see other organisations follow the steps of building similar bridges of undestanding.
