Nyjer Morgan at-bat during a November 15 Arizona Fall League game between the Phoenix Desert Dogs and the Surprise Rafters. Morgan was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 33rd round of the 2002 First-Year Player Draft out of Walla Walla Community College in the state of Washington. The 6-foot, 170 pound outfielder hit .305 with a .374 on-base percentage and stole 26 bases with Triple-A Indianapolis of the International League in 2007. He hit .299/.359/.430 with seven stolen bases during a 28 game stint with the Pirates at the end of the season.

  • I have to agree, he is one hell of a player. I would love to have him on the Mets. So gritty, tough, and plays with a lot energy. Sort of player mets definitely can use. Nyjer is definitely the man.
