This is my favorite by The Remains http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Remains
Great guitar by Barry Tashian, who's group opened for the Beatles 1966 U.S. tour. Barry has written a book about that tour.

  • Not only opened for the Beatles, but they backed up everyone else on tour with them because they were great musicians. Poor guys didn't get the break they needed. They probably thought they had it in the bag, after all, touring with the Beatles. Nobody cared about them, only the Beatles, and as for playing real Rock N Roll, the Beatles went downhill(for the most part) after Paperback Writer. The remains were great. The "Let Me Through" video from Ed Sullivan Show is great. Check it out!

  • This song has one the finest bass sounds!

  • i bet people back then when they heard the up beat punk drums they were like

    0_0 "the fuck?"

  • A Vern Miller original--might explain those deep bass sounds--great performance--and, yes, Billy Sherrill was Tammy Wynette's producer!

  • I Can't Get Away From You - Barry & The Remains [Boston, Massachusetts] - 1965 - "nice soft punk vocals, beat, guitar" - The Remains-1991. NOTE: A highly regarded Massachusetts punk band, who were originally known as Barry and The Remains. They had quite a reputation in the Boston area in the late sixties, and opened for The Beatles last tour in the Summer of 1966.

  • Can you believe this was produced by Tammy Wynette's producer? Talk about range!

  • And they are still great ! -saw them a few years ago - all original in LA

  • The latter part of the Remains career has very heavy bass sounds. It sounds nearly proto metal except that the guitars couldn't quite keep up in those days.

  • Great!! Has a bit of a "gloria" feel to it....

  • About 30 years ago I got a mint- stereo copy of their Epic LP. One of my favorite records.

  • What a great sound! I gotta get some of their stuff.
