  • I have used both, after experimenting, for me I control the gun better by putting it closer to center line of my body, so that my body weight is taking the recoil, not just my shoulder.

You should also look at competitive shooters allot of them grab the hand guard with their support hand close to the front site.

It just depends, you have to find out for your self.

  • Yeah, they do that more for accuracy than speed. I think moving your support further down the barrel lets you be more precise because it's a longer arc to work with, but by that same token you sacrifice speed because smaller arcs mean less effort to swing your gun around to a new target. So I guess a magazine hold would therefore be best for a short-range reaction drill. :)

  • there are other guys, that will tell you the opposite, that gripping it further out gives you more torque. Just gotta run the gun, take some classes and decide for yourself.

  • @Quartz91 I bought the vast majority of my attachments.

  • @NekolasM actually foregrips don't make that much of a difference for controlling full auto. since the ar platform has the barrel, bolt carrier, buffer spring, and stock all in line most of the recoil comes directly back, so to control the recoil on full auto you just need a firm constant rearward pressure on the weapon into your shoulder. the guy in the video does a really good job at keeping that consistent pressure going rearward, and he just does it by pulling on the mag well instead of vfg

  • Some will buy their own optics.

  • Does American infantry get to choose their own equipment on the m4?

  • Damn, you do really well on auto even without a foregrip! Do you prefer using your magazine or were you just shooting bare bones that day?
