In 2005 two young Australians Chris Bray and Clark Carter set out on a world first expedition across Victoria Island in the Canadian Arctic. The pair both hauled/dragged/paddled their home-made wheeled kayaks loaded with 250kgs of gear across 350km of this largely unexplored island, while polar bears and arctic wolves looked on. In mid 2008 they are going back to finish what they started - to dig up a flag left there and carry it the remaining 700km to the far side of the island. www.1000HourDay.com
