Angela , It's good to see that there are people out there that support our transitions and that there are people that love us for who we are... Andrew, your a lucky one to have such a great girl mate....
My gf had people policing her lesbianism and questioning her about me when they met me.....
I think you handled it well and that you have a great group of friends...

I totally understand what youre saying about being the first one coming out in your area. I was the only open lgbt member of my school and community, even more confusing for everyone, I came out as trans and no one knew what it meant.
Some members of my own family dont know about my being trans yet because theyre not very open-minded/supportive.
My girlfriends family knows..and they encourage her to "keep her options open." But her and I are engaged now.
