Accord Type R 0-100mph, 14.8s, standard

Another digitally stepped timing of my Honda Accord Type R, this time 0-100mph. EVO Magazine (UK) stated ~17s to 100, I knew the Accord R was quicker so I went out and did my own test. *Not the best of starts but this was an airstrip so tarmac quality was poor*

Really impressive! my (ATR) CH1 H22A7 doesnt accelerate that fast. What is the weight of an CL1? the CH1 is 1420 KG

This is a UK CH1 and they don't weigh 1,420, official book figure is 1,330kg but it's actually less than that without a full tank of fuel. :)

That was the JDM and Malaysian CL1 'Euro R', but virtually the same car/chassis under the skin.

The F20B is a good block though, famed to enjoy boost.

there is no accord type r and if you have type r engine swap they only run high 15 low 14 wich isnt bad but not as fun as high torque car making the same time cause power gets out qicker

There is no Accord Type R? Yes there is about 1,000 of the in the UK alone, originally 1,700 registered - chassis code CH1 produced 98-02, official. CL1 is the Japanese derivative, the Euro R.

@BENCHORD I AGREE WITH U MATE! awesome car, i had an integra type r and thats supposed to be best FWD car ever!! but i find my accord type r is easier to handle, i love the feel of the steering too.the grip is phenomenal!!! although the integra was awesome,and i love them both. i just find myself loving the accord type r a little bit more

One of the 1st things I noticed about ATR is that you can smash throttle on 1st gear from 5mph to limiter and tyres won't slip on dry surface. Didn't have that luck in my previous Celica ST202, where I had to use 90% or loose time when launching. In ATR also the second gear is simply brutal, when vtec engages, nothing like the underpowered ST202. Overtaking 2 cars takes same time as 1 car in standard tdi saloon. Great car.

The speed this thing goes from 80-100mph is stunning.... pure vtec in motion here.

People (usually americans) can chat as much shit as they like about vtec engines having no torque.... but the acceleration to be had in vtec is sensational.

This is a 212bhp 1300kg saloon car.. rapid!
