The average human is functioning in an unawakened state, according to Russian philosopher and mystic George Ivanovich Gurdjieff. Psychologist Kathleen Speeth, Ph.D., author of The Gurdjieff Work and Gurdjieff: Seeker of the Truth, was raised by parents who were students of Gurdjieff, whom she met as a child. She discusses the history and present status of the Gurdjieff movement and the fundamental exercise of "remembering oneself."

  • @webbydeb As soon as I saw her hair I thought to mock it as my first impulse. Then I thought well I should be nice and watch it first. Then I scrolled down and read this comment. Nice. My impulse is correct if you are.

  • Hate to let you folks in on a secret, but she's a sociopath. I know, because she's my mother.

  • she has a magnetic quality about her, her heart feels present...

  • I'll think of man and his meaning. Shake the tree and come back in the spring and see what's sprouted. My outhouse will be off in the distance, away from real garden.

  • Based on her account, this woman must be in her late 60s or early 70s. Quite lovely.

  • Unfortunately she is partly responsible for the dissemination of the misuse of the Enneagram as a typology of personalities. For what it is worth, I think they mispronounce Mr. Gurdjieff's name.

  • Yes, Gurdjieff would call her a Soft Idiot. She sounds as a real nice human being.

  • I could listen to this woman all day; such a beautiful voice and such a clear presentation of the ideas presented.
