  • This is what politics should be about: Mutual respect. This guy was a lifelong liberal and probably ruffled more than a few feathers on both sides of the aisle, yet when it came down to it, those differences gave way to their respect for the man. The Republicans didn't have to give him a standing ovation or even applause, they did it because they liked the man personally.

  • I was there, it was very moving, everyone was on their feet this whole time, the upper chamber was packed, we heard he was returning so everyone went to see if he would.
