NOTE: These promo vids are in JAPANESE and not English. If you can't handle that, then please move on to another video.

This is the the 2nd part of The History Of Street Fighter. This section covers the world famous Street Fighter 2 The World Warrior which was released in 1991 in arcades all across America. This game alone revived the arcade industry and brought fighting games to the forefront. Stores like 7-Eleven, Circle K and every mall arcade had at least one(if not several)SF2 machines and often times gamers would have to wait in line to play! This is where it all truly began.

  • This is an interesting video! Where did you find it?

  • It's a dvd extra on the region 2 dvd of Street Fighter The Animated Movie. I am working on putting the rest of the feature up soon but my video codecs are acting up and I can't get the high quality feature to work sometimes. Lotsa trial and error lol! Thanks for checking the vid!

  • I was 4 when street fighter 2 came to arcade in 1991.

  • Street Fighter is better than mortal kombat

Yeah. Capcom USA had suspicions that they would be sued for bringing a Mike Tyson parody to the States. (Years later, the Official Xbox Magazine demo for the Xbox port of the Neo-Geo MVS/AES title SVC Chaos: SNK vs. Capcom apparently got past Tyson's radar -- the demo version used the original character names. The final version corrected the names for the American and European releases -- Mike is Balrog, Balrog is Vega, and Vega is Master Bison.)

  • @jessecrx i had SNES i never heard of it...

  • @ErcanAndVeli

Actually, his name in Japan is Balrog, while the US Balrog is called M. Bison, and the US M. Bison is Vega. Capcom USA wanted to avoid any lawsuits for having a character that was too similar to Mike Tyson.

  • 5:50 Chun Li vs Balrog? Since when did Vega change his name to Balrog? XD

  • its a very nice video. these old stuff are always better than the new things.

  • I played 'Street Fighter 2 Turbo HD' -- the game was replicated by Americans and the version SUCKS and even the difficulty is out of whack -- easy mode is more like hard mode. Anyway, some things should be left to other people =)
