Marshall County Cyclones vs Dunlap White 3rd QTR 10/17/09

Cyclones J.V. use High School formation & strong defense to win over Dunlap. William Pono express Petersen ran for 2 TDs to lift the team to win . In the second quarter the Cyclones went to the spread formation the high school uses and on the 3rd play from scrimmage Petersen read the defense and ran off the left side for a 36 yard TD . The defense came to play shutting down Dunap ,allowing few first downs in the first half. . The Cyclone fans had a scare when Jake Downer was injured and had to be carried off the field . Downer a key part of the offense & defensive line would be a terrible loss to the team. The score at half was 6-0. The 3rd quarter was a defensive battle no team giving any ground to the other. Start the 4th quarter the Cyclone offense went to the spread , Dunlap expecting a pass they spread out their linebackers and the blitzed their middle. The offense handed the ball off of right tackle and great blocks by Timmy Keller & Miranda Osborn opened the road for Petersen to score his second TD from 31 yards out. The score now was 14-0 . The cyclone defense would now shut down the Eagles with a 4 and out and an interception by Stone Darrow to seal the game up. The game ended 14-0 cyclones . Key points to the game the passing attack of cyclones opened up the running game , with the loss of Jake Downer other players stepped up to meet the task. Gwennyth Welsh came in on defense and controlled the inside & on offense James Manns filled in on left Tackle well. Totals for the game Pono Petersen 97 yards on 4 carries Defensive leaders Robbie Kraft 11 tackles , Miranda Osborn 13 tackles ,Pono Petersen 16 tackles and 1 fumble recovery, Ethan Zulz 17 tackles , & Curtis Morgan 19 tackles 1 forced fumble. The defense has posted their 4th shutout and the team now 4-2 in regular season play.
