[MSL] Burn 2 & Rover Separation

The Centaur upper stage performed it's second and final 8 minute burn before separating from the Curiosity Rover, encased in it's heat shield and stage.

Great work to all those involved. Hope the good fortunes continue. As a fan of the program I would have really enjoyed some camera views from the spacecraft looking back as it leaves earth orbit over the course of several days. Would have been a great thing to watch.

Well the circular shape is the most efficient way to launch a spacecraft but I must agree it does look damned cool to have my name underway to Mars =)
