Thanks for sharing this, how things have changed since I was there in mid- to late 1980s! Thanks also for zoom shots of train progess over the station approaches and exits. Ths is invaluable for modelling detail and timetable software planning. Enjoyed the video and the memories it brought.

i remember seeing deltics there around 1980/81,and 31s on the birmingham-norwich trains a day out spotting courtesy of my dad(i was only 7 or 8 at the time),my god its changed i cant believe all the plastic on show, eveyone used to hate hsts so why are they treated with some kind of god status now?they were responsible for the death of deltics on the ecml, peaks on the midland and my fav class 50s on the padd-southwest trains.good quality vid though.

just got back from Peterborough. Was fantastic! I got to see 43053, 43056 and 43119 all within about half an hour and several Class 91s. There was also, strangely a South West Trains set at platform 5.

Yeh, they're operated by firstGRRf as part of a common fleet...and don't actually see that much use on Metronet work!
Glad you enjoyed it. My young days trainspotting were spent around here, particularly Grantham, where, one memorable day an A4 'Streak' 'Lord Farringdon' came through with its chime whistle on all the way through the station. I will never forget that day because it began a lifelong interest in trains. Grantham and Peterborough were also fantastic places to go in the Deltic era and we used our pocket money to buy a return to Grantham to see the Gold Thistle headboard of the Flying Scotsman.

Interesting seeing those Metronet owned locos for tube renewal. I wonder what will happen to them now that they are in administration

Its a strange thing about liveries; we assume (often wrongly) that the locos are actually owned by the companies whose names are emblazoned across them. Very often they are leased and will simply be transferred to the next temporary owner. A similar thing will probably happen to Virgin Cross Country stock when their franchise ends later this year.
