Water bug egg laying fail

Male giant water bugs in the species Abedus herberti rarely allow their mates to lay their eggs after only a single mating. In this video, the female (white dot) attempts to climb onto the male's (red dot) back to lay eggs, but the male moves around and knocks her off. He also does pushups to indicate that he wants to mate again. You can see the pushups in more detail here:
