All Saints (c/o Multimedia dept) employed me to come back and assist in cooking up content for the schools yearly Omaru DVD and Formal. This short video was designed as a DVD Menu - edited in 2.55:1 ratio. It's amazing how quickly the colour temperature changes in the afternoon... Cheers to the excellent camera assistants Harry Jackson and Gavin Blenkins plus Steven Lewis for putting up with us stealing tape after tape after tape... Song: 9,000 Miles - Pendulum (In Silico - Warner Music UK Ltd. 2008) Note: YT compression doesn't hold up, watch in "Higher Quality" as it looks a LOT better... better yet, add "&fmt=18" (without talking marks) to the video URL to watch it in High Quality H.264 with stereo audio. (The way it was supposed to be viewed and heard!)

  • How did you do the panning timelapse?

  • By enabling all the in camera markers and picking targets very close to the left of the centre cross-hair marker and shifting to it after a few seconds, then in post finding the framing and positioning I wanted and simply I,O, Insert the single frame. Each shot takes 30-40 mins to shoot... thats why I didn't get the chance to make another one! (I really wanted to have three... good things come in thirds)

  • that's really cool jarryd! i couldn't work out where one of the angles was shot from...then i was like wow that's the CSI! the plants have grown so much since i was last there...haha

  • Yeah it's crazy hey. It was a tad too windy on the day of shooting (thus the trees having a good dance around on screen) but it was one of the few days that wasn't raining... Hows Jay-pan treating you?

  • awsome!

  • Cheers for the feedback... I'm surprised someone found the video so quickly!

How cool is this new YouTube widescreen business?
