BARKING DEER(KAKAR) INDIA

BARKING DEER(Kakar) on hillside near CAMPCORBETT(1 km north of Corbett Museum ),KALADHUNGI,and 30 kms East of Corbett Park(for more info see www.blazeatrailadventures.com). Sat with bit of camoflage netting over me and waited above a small valley towards dusk.There was a trickle of water below me and I knew Deer came down to drink.There was also a small possibility of a Tiger or Leopard moving along valley floor though this is more likely after dark.Anyway this Barking Deer came over the opposite ridge and I got some good video footage.The video shown here is from a flash memory card so quality is not so good(Original is much better).However the alarm calls of the Kakar as it became agitated after hearing a noise behind me are quite clear.At the end of the clip is a different short sequence of 2 Barking deer taken from a different hide.MORE INFO-email csalt@kumaonexplor.orangehome.co.uk for info on Camp Corbett

digitalx... yesteryears i've waited for the whole one day on the tree to shoot this kinda barking deer..

sometimes it never appears and sometime my fridge full of munjack meat! best meat i've ever taste!! i'm a barking deer hunter.....

Well, I prefer to video or photograph deer .Its also more difficult than shooting and anyway where I go (India) hunting is banned anyway -just as well considering the amount of poaching that goes on anyway..... However, see where you are coming from as when I was younger used to shoot a bit myself.
