I knew it was a Dutch group before I saw them, but I was still surprised to see what the lead singer looked like. From the sound of his voice, I wasn't expecting a pretty boy.
I simply liked the song. Period. It was different. I could careless what the band looked like or what the singer looked like. I close my eyes, like in the great days before MTV where your imagination was up to the person using it. Fuck MTV. They forgot what the M stood for. Now it's about who didn't put the toothpaste on the toothpaste container. And who bitches the loudest and who makes the biggest scenes. NOTHING TO DO WITH TALENT. And who really cares. What a great fucking song.
I loved this song when it came out. Of course, back then, you had no idea what the artists looked like. I envisioned this song being done by a black group from New Orleans (hence the French lyrics). As Chuck Berry said, "It goes to show you never can tell"
